Dorsett Mongkok Hotel Review

If you're on a budget and looking for a cheap hotel in Hong Kong with great location, fantastic customer service, a free shuttle to major tourist destinations, and a free smartphone with a Wi-Fi hotspot, the Dorsett Mongkok Hotel is the place to stay.

Comfort Room one Double Bed

Room Size

Although the perks and price are great, the comfort room double bed was really small. My girlfriend and I was able to place our suitcases on the window sill, but there was still little free space to roam.

Bathroom

The bathrooms are frosted glass walls that leaves little to the imagination. Let's just say, if you're traveling with someone who you are not bathroom comfortable with, this may not be the place for you.

View

We had a view of the highway (not noisy) which made for a great time-lapse spot. The view is pictured above.

Dorsett Mongkok Perks

Free Smartphone

The smartphone that comes with your room is an extra perk that's definitely worth the stay. You can use this to make local calls, international calls and it even turns into a Wi-Fi hotspot so you can still access the internet with your own phone.

This phone came in handy navigating through the city. It helped us call Ubers, find attractions and sightseeing spots when we were lost, and find restaurants while on the go. Having this phone saved us a ton of time and money.

Free Shuttle Bus

Dorsett Mongkok also provides a free shuttle bus with stops at various touristy locations. This was extremely convenient and also saved us time and money. There is a set schedule for the shuttle bus, but it is frequent enough.

Even though we had unlimited MTR rides since we purchased a 3 day Airport pass, having a shuttle pick us up right in from of the hotel was too convenient to pass up.
